Artist's Description
When our family went to Yellowstone National Park in 2012, we stopped to see many sights. One of these was the Artists Paint Pots (I mean, really, I had to stop) about 3 miles south of Norris Junction. Artists Paint Pots is the most popular thermal feature in the Gibbon Geyser Basin. The iron oxide stains the white mud into many rust colors from yellow to red-orange. But those are not the only colors found in the Paint Pots. There are also blues and grays and whites.
This is the View looking up towards Paintpot Hill. I loved the colors, the rusts of the iron oxide and the greens of the vegetation growing on the hill. Yellowstone National Park is beautiful country.
